What’s New at Weiner Library

Announcements  Tagged , Comments Off

The staff at Weiner Library, on the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, are pleased to announce the return of the library’s book collection along with the completion of several library renovation projects. Last May, a project began intended to make the entire building wheelchair accessible. That project necessitated the removal of most of the print collection to an off-site location, while work began on installing an elevator, building a new lobby entrance, renovating bathrooms and making numerous other changes to the building.

The library staff welcomes student input as to what is needed to continue to transform Weiner Library into an effective and attractive 21st century research and learning environment. Please share your ideas by posting comments here, in the suggestion box at the Weiner Library reference desk, or by contacting the Associate University Librarian and Director of Public Services at Weiner Library, Kathy Stein, by emailing her at stein at

Weiner Library is pleased to present the work of local artist Zhora Almosnino, Her mixed media paintings will be on display on the second floor of Weiner Library through May 22, 2009.

Zhora Amosnino was born in Europe and raised in Israel. After serving for two years in the Israeli military she moved to a kibbutz.  Amosnino studied and worked as a graphic designer but in recent years she started working full-time as an artist.

Amosnino often incorporates everyday objects and recycled materials in her work.  “New painting is a way of starting with one thing on the canvas, knowing that it will change completely by the end. Most of my paintings are inspired by pure imagination, strong colors, and a hint of humor.”
