Interrogating Boundaries and the Office of the Dean of Becton College invite you to join us for the second lecture in our series:
Exploring Race and Ethnicity
Wednesday, November 12th, 12-2pm
College at Florham Library – Orangerie
Guest Speaker: Jane Junn, Rutgers University
More than 20% of the U.S. residents today is an immigrant or the child of immigrants. As a result of international migration to the U.S. from all corners of the globe, the American people are as racially and ethnically diverse as ever. Latinos are now the largest minority group in the nation, making up 14% of the residents, and followed by African Americans (12%) and Asian Americans (5%). What are the implications of immigration and the racial and ethnic diversity it produces? How are minority and immigrant Americans mobilized to political action? How do native-born whites and African Americans see this new diversity?
Seating is limited. Please RSVP to Madeleine McMcMahon at mmcmahon@fdu.edu
