ebrary logoebrary will experience interruptions in service (up to 60 minutes) while scheduled maintenance is performed on Thursday, October 24th starting at 10PM.

ebrary is striving to minimize service disruption and expects downtime of up to 60 minutes in total.

During the maintenance window, customers who attempt to access ebooks hosted on ebrary platform impacted by this maintenance activity will be redirected to a page which lists the scheduled maintenance hours and be encouraged to return at the close of the maintenance window.

FDU Library now has Kindle Fires and Kindle Touches!  Students, faculty and staff can check them out for up to 7 days.  

The Kindle Fire is a tablet that can be used to browse the Internet, do library research, read e-books, stream videos and music, play games, and much more. The Kindle Touch is an e-Reader, similar to the original Kindle, only smaller.

Kindle TouchTwo of each type of device will be available at both the College at Florham Library and the Giovatto Library on the Metro campus. Please stop by the circulation desk at either library to sign out the devices or for more information about our e-Reader and Laptop (including iPads) loaner programs. A valid FDU library account in good standing is required for loan of these devices.

To download these titles on a library device, simply connect to WiFi and look for your title in the Archives folder. Click on the name of the book in order to initiate the download process. Contact the Systems Librarian, oshea at if you encounter any problems.

New eBook Titles, Apps and Games Available on Library Kindles and iPads

Over the summer the  FDU campus libraries have added a number of new Kindle eBook titles to their collections. The libraries have also added  a new feature — Kindle games — to the Kindle devices. On the iPads, we have placed many new apps and some new eBook titles are available through the Kindle for iPad app. Students, faculty and staff my borrow a Kindle for up to 1 week and may renew their loan for another week. The iPads currently may be only used within the library.

There are two word games available on the Kindle — Every Word and Shuffled Row.

The new eBooks  represent a variety of categories — Fiction, Mysteries/Thrillers, Romance, Bollywood, Business, and Medicine to name a few. New titles include:

These e-books can be accessed either through the Library catalog, or through the “Credo Reference” database on the FDU Online Library page. Remote access is possible with your FDU Webmail ID and password.
