Evelyn has been a volunteer archivist of the Sammartino archive for the past twenty years.  At the start, she and her husband Jack volunteered in the library together.  After Jack’s death 9 years ago, Evelyn’s three grandsons have accompanied and assisted her on many occasions.   Volunteer service is a tademark of Evelyn’s family!

FDU Library Wins Federal Award for Preservation

Awards  Tagged Comments Off

We are pleased to announce that the FDU Library will be a recipient of an IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) award. Two members of the library staff, Brigid Burke (Technical Services, Madison) and Pat Murray (Collection Development, Teaneck), worked on this application last Fall, and it’s nice to see that their efforts paid off.

Treasured objects and artifacts held by FDU will be preserved for future generations with help from the IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf, a core set of conservation books, DVDs, and online resources donated by the Institute, the primary source of federal funding of the nation’s museums and libraries. More details after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
