Whether you are a new or returning student, there may be a few things that you don’t yet know about the Library.  Test yourself and your Library knowledge with the following questions!

Did you know?

That the Library has a Student Advisory Board?

That the Library has over 100 online databases across the disciplines?

That the Library has over 75,000 ebooks available whenever you need them, wherever you are – and you never have to bring them back? 

That the Library is open 7 days a week?

That there is always a reference librarian scheduled to assist you?

That the Library has a Café, an ATM machine, and courtesy charging stations?

That the Library offers “express check-out”?  If you’re in a hurry, we will have all your items ready to go when you are.

That the Library offers self-checkout? Just swipe your card, and you’re good to go.

That the Library is a great place to read, study, and do your research papers and projects?  It’s also a great place to take a break!

That the Library has a collection of FDU Yearbooks?

That the Library has an ITV Room? 

That the Library has a Paperback collection of books donated by faculty, staff, and students, for re-cycling and exchange?

That you can text us at the Reference Desk?

That you can take out as many books, magazines, and DVDs as you want?

That there is a very student-friendly scanner in the Reference/Circulation area?

That you can suggest a book for purchase by the Library?

That we can borrow a book for you from another Library if we do not have it in our collection through interlibrary loan?

That your FDU ID serves as your Library card and most be presented whenever you you enter the building?

That laptops and IPads can be borrowed to use in the Library?

That we have the New York Times back to 1851 and many of the Presidential Papers on microfilm – and a digital microfilm scanner printer?

That there are different types of study spaces available – quiet and group study areas, the Sammartino and J. Michael Adams Rooms, and small group study rooms.

That the Relaxation Zone is located next to the Library Café?

That the Columbia Film Archive is housed @ the Library?  These vintage films can be viewed by appointment.
